Introduction

Logistics is concerned with the design and administration of processes to plan movement and geographical positioning of raw materials, work-in-progress and finished inventories at the lowest cost. In this module you will analyse how logistics adds value to the overall supply chain, and where inventory can be strategically positioned to achieve sales. You will examine how factors such as order management, inventory, transportation, warehousing and capacity need to be effectively and efficiently managed in order to support procurement, manufacturing and the customer supply chain requirements.
