This module covers an important topic of  structural dynamics and vibration of slander and light civil engineering structures. It provides theoretical foundations for analysing single-degree-of-freedom (SDOF) and multi-degree-of-freedom (MDOF) systems, and applies this knowledge to the vibration serviceability assessment of structures such as footbridges and long-span floors. Special attention is paid to human-generated vibrations and human response to perceived vibrations, as well as vibration control measures and application of relevant design guidelines.
